5 Languages of Appreciation in Class
School and parents work for the same cause; kids should learn, and that they should have a safe, nurturing environment in school. The school owner and principal know about their responsibilities for creating a good learning environment. These points are based on what the research shows are the most important factors:
- Classroom Management
- Pupil Relations
- Home-school collaboration
- Organization and leadership
Of course you are aware that “All students in primary schools and upper secondary schools have the right to a good physical and psychosocial environment that promotes health, well-being and learning.” This follows the Education Act § 9a-1.
Good psychosocial environment at school. What is it all about??
The school’s psychosocial environment is about how staff and pupils behave towards each other at school. The psychosocial environment includes interpersonal relationships at school, the social environment and the students’ and staff’s experiences on the matter.
School environment should promote health, well-being and learning of pupils. This includes being exposed to offensive words and actions, neither from classmates nor teachers.
There is a “whole jungle” of anti-bullying program to choose from. “The 5 Languages of Appreciation in class” is also a research-based training course. Why choose us rather than others?
- Fastest and most effective program. Only 8 hours (or 10 hours of 45 min).).
- Students and teachers learning tools useful for life.
- Easy to implement (the teacher does not experience the concept as complicated and demanding, or as “yet another thing to do in an allready challenging time scedule”)
- Easy to learn and to apply immediately.
- Prevention, rather than “fire fighting” cases of bullying.
- Trauma Sensitive program.
The 5 Languages of Appreciation at Work:
As principal or school authority you are obviously aware of the responsibility for employees’ psychosocial environment. Research shows that the vast majority of new teachers leave because they did not feel appreciated by their manager, and because they did not feel appreciated by society. See lector magazine, , http://www.norsklektorlag.no/getfile.php/Filer/Lektorbladet%20(filmappe)/LB6.2012_web.pdf. We as a society are facing a lack of number of teachers.
For you to make the most of the ones you’ve already employed, it is important that they know that you care and that they feel appreciated. This creates commitment, sharing of learning, less absenteeism and lower level of turnover.

The 5 Languages of Appreciation at Work is a course that only takes about 8 hours. You can do it in one day, two half days or it can be tailored to fit your school’s scedule.
You will get an overview of what each employee needs to feel valued and colleagues are taught how to give the appropriate kind of support and encouragement to each other. Working environment and job satisfaction is created largely by employees at the same level, and should not be dependent on the management itself.
