Staff feeling safe
– enjoy their work
– is productive
– has better health!
People at work show and receive appreciation in different ways. If you try to show appreciation in a way that doesn’t mean anything to your staff, they may not feel valuable at all. This is because you and your colleagues speak different languages.
In the course 5 Languages of Appreciation, we will be able to help you identify the five Languages of Appreciation, so you can:
- Show real appreciation to staff and employees – even on a low budget.
- Increase loyalty among staff and volunteers in your organization.
- Reduce cynicism and create a more positive work environment.
- Increase your ability to appreciate the difficult colleagues.
- Find out how each language can be used in appropriate ways.
We provide practical, research-based tools, which can make any work environment more encouraging and productive.
Course Package “stitched together” in a way that suits you and your organization.
Safe pupils
– thrive better
– learn more effectively!
New, research-based (including Hattie and other school researchers) school program that promotes well-being, academic success and the prevention of bullying. Pupils, teachers and parents learn the “language” most important to make that particular pupil to feel seen and cared for.
The five languages are:
1. Words of Affirmation
2. Quality Time
3. Acts of Service
4. Physical Touch
5. Gifts
Each language has different “dialects”. Eg. Is it quality time for someone to ride a bike together to school, while others like to talk. Each language has an opposite, ie behavior which is harmful and destructive for the school environment as well as the individual pupil:
1. Harassment
2. Social Exclusion
3. Bullying
4. Violence and abuse and
5. Vandalism
At the end of the course we provide a test, to let parents know what each child wants from them.
What is meant by appreciation languages?
The worst forms of communication are no communication, indirect or ineffective communication. We often fall short when we try to show appreciation for a colleague. There is inconsistency between intention and how the message is perceived for the recipient. This is due to differences in people’s “language”, which makes it easy to “talk past each other.”
Test to find your Language
To determine what languages each of your colleagues have, psychologists Dr.White and Dr.Chapman created an online test, Motivated By Appreciation BMA.
The test will:
a) help you, your colleagues and your manager to understand how you feel valued and encouraged at; and b) give the people you work with specific actions to be used if they want to communicate appreciation to you.
MAV test is a supplement made to the concept of “Valuation 5 languages at work.”
Pupils’ appreciation languages tested on course “Valuation 5 languages in class” and done on paper. Guardians receive test results so they can know the “language” their children or youth wants most at home.
